Can anyone advise me on how to link up two light switches so that it can be turned off or on from either one?

Ok your switch connections for a basic 1 gang 1 way switch are switch feed (live coming to switch and is live regardless of whether you open or close the switch) and switch wire cable coming from light fitting to switch. Make sure your switches are 2 way. For two way you bring the switch wire to a seperate switch and connect into the common terminal. Then from this switch bring two brown conductors from terminals l1 and l2 and connect to terminals l1 and l2 to switch with feed connected to common terminal. Easiest way to prob wire is to run a single brown pvc/pvc and a twin brown. Disconnect switch wire from existing switch and join in connector with single brown. Then connect up as previously mentioned. Don't forget to earth any metal boxes or switches. P.m me if you have any problems.

Simplest way to do it is to use something like this, based on an intermediate switch design
