Getting M-audio Keystation 49e working with Cubase 5

I have the Keystation 49e installed correctly and it shows up in XPs device manager as "USB Audio Device". However when I go to MIDI Device Manager in Cubase and click "Install Device" the Keystation doesn't appear in the list of devices that can be installed. I haven't a clue about this MIDI stuff, anyone know where I'm going wrong?

When you add a MIDI track, try change the input from 'all MIDI inputs' to 'M-Audio Keystation' or whatever it is. Alternatively, you could use a MIDI cable into your soundcard.

Contact Cubase and/or M-Audio Support. Info on their respective websites.

Got it sorted. XP was using the default microsoft driver, I had to manually set it to the m-audio one.

Nice one man, nothing like solving audio problems! MIDI is a little bit weird to get your head round first but really worth persevering with.

Paul white's Basic MIDI is a good little starter book for midi if anyones struggling to get
started, should be able to pick up a copy for less than €10
