I played in Newlands yesterday in the Leinster branch GUI captains+Secretary day out and what a fine course it is.

Lots of trees but no matter where your drive went you had a 'shot' even if you had to be like Seve and bend it around or under a branch.

The greens were great (Tommy the captain said the were a little slower than normal!).

Food was very good too as was the Guinness :)

    Thumbs up from me !

Played in the same event. Thought the course was in excellent condition. The changes they have made have turned it into a genuine test of golf. It's definitely a course I will play again.

Played there a good few years ago with Andrew Hogan who some here will know of.

Only played the front 9th now but from what I gathered it was a very nice course. This was during the redesign I believe.

The 4th and 5th were the standout holes I thought.

Greens are new. Some of them were only laid this year. Greenstaff have done an excellent job and they have bedded in really well. They are very true to putt on and receptive to good shots.
