Hi, I'm looking for a decent set of forks for an old 'rescued' trek mountain/commuter bike i'm refurbishing, not looking to spend a lot of money and can't afford new ones. Springs in the old forks are knackered. Just need an idea how much and what sort of offers might be out there. Also looking for a decent set of riser handle bars, 4 new brake blocks for couple of cantilever style brakes and a new (long) headset/stem. not looking to spend much cash so offers on the cheaper side is better. Cheers, Sean

Hey, I have two rigid mtb forks knocking around the shed. One is from a caad2 cannondale, is bright yellow, has v-brake/canti bosses, is made of steel and has some scratches but is the nice wide cannondale fork design which looks cool. The other is silver, aluminium, really light, with v and disc mounts. Both are for a 1 1/8" aheadset and have a long steerer with star nut and top cap included. I also have an unused green aheadset and a few stems to suit (http://adverts.ie/218608).
THe cannondale fork maybe 30-40 quid, 50 for the aluminium one, 25 for headset new in box...

edit: just realised you want a riser bar too- have one in that listing on adverts too- how about a cannondale fork, 130mm stem and riser bar for 50 euro?

cyco, where you based? could maybe swing by and have a look. could be interested in a few items, i cancelled the handle bars, so could offer you 60 for the alluminum fork (if it fits bike and brakes), headset and risers maybe? or 50 maybe without the heaset as have one already, its just a bit ****.

I'm in Dublin 6. You can take a look at the two forks if you like. THey're both 1 1/8" a-headset type forks. Aluminium one has an international standard disc mount. I wouldn't part with the headset for so little cause it's a good one, unused and i'll definitely find use for it so you're best off holding onto your own i'd say. Did you say you need a stem? How about 60 for aluminium fork and bar or 45 with the steel fork? and i'll throw in a choice of two stems to suit for nothing.
