Lads, lets keep all rumours, paper talk and confirmation of any transfers in here, saves there being a new thread set up every day we hear a rumour.

Talk of the rags today is Modric to Chelsea  - would like to think it's a non runner seeing as we are in the CL Play Offs.

Luis Fabiano as mentioned above, I have mixed feelings over him tbh.

And finally, David James to sign as back up to Gomes !

I will feel like giving up if we sell luka, Now is the time to tell these "big" clubs to piss off.

We don't need the money and he wouldn't strike me as the kind to do a berba on it.

In saying that, if modric had to go is there anyone worth swaping with at Chelsea?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,038 ✭✭✭slegs

Dunno selling Modric could be good business if we get player plus cash. Modric is very good but he isnt without his flaws either (can be anonymous in some games and doesnt score much)

Joe Cole + 15m wouldnt be too bad. Put the 15m towards another top midfielder and all of a sudden the team is strengthened without cost

Daniel Levy has been very savvy in the market. It isnt small club mentality if you get the right deal.

Can someone put up chelsea squad there and we gave a look?

I'm in the mob site so I can't, the more I think of it I'm half thinking harry is up to something

Thats a laughable offer for Luka...20m!

We paid 16.5m for him and he is arguably the most creative midfielder in the PL at present. If Zhirkoz, Lescott, Aquilani, Valencia are worth c.20m Luka is worth 30m+

We should counter offer for Malouda 25m:D

Not for me. Modric and Cole are pretty similar, but Modric is better, so keep Modric and forget Cole :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Yeah I don't think Cole and Modric could work in the same team. Modric is more creative, Cole would probably create more goals, but he's injured a lot and isn't the player he used to be, whereas Modric will only get better.

Think they may have been confussed with a 20mil offer for Niko..Wouldnt mind seeing Anelka signing. We can forgive his previous club history and think he could bag a lot of goals for us

Mad that they dont have a number 7 or 9...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

Keeping them for big signing maybe?

I dunno there are a couple of players there I would take + €20m for Luka tbh.

Why hasn't essien been playing? Is he injured.

Injured most of the season. Best player in Europe at what he does imo.

Lokomotiv Moscow to make new move for Pavlyuchenko Published 23:00 14/05/10 By MirrorFootball

Lokomotiv Moscow will make a new bid for Roman Pavlyuchenko, closer to Spurs’ £15million valuation.
“We consider him a star of European scale”, said Loko boss Yuri Semin, who failed to get Pav in January.
"At the moment I do not know if the player or his club want to resume negotiations.
"But in my opinion he would become a serious reinforcement for Lokomotiv as well as for the Russian premiership as a whole."

Another 15 million for the Torres fund?

    Tottenham eye Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Tottenham Hotspur Set Sights On Inter Midfielder Sulley Muntari.

    Any source to that?

I'd happily give muntari a look

Jesus all considered 15m would be some bit of business and suggest that harrys superstar is gonna be a striker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

15 mill for an often superb but regularly inconsistent striker?! Yes please!! Add that to 10mil for Keane and we've 25mill to spend on a top striker!! Nice!

Not to mention like the bones oflike 120k in wages.

I heard Craig Bellamey was on his way to the Lane for €6m......any truth in that?

Did you see the high five he gave Redknapp after the Man City game....

Is this guy not a left winger ? Thought we had loads of options over that side !

Maybe they know we are loosing Luka?

I don't know much about that Turkish player but going by the comments on the link he must be a good one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,395 ✭✭✭Hatch99

Linked today with Kevin Doyle and Ashley Young. A lot tastier than carrick and Bellamy if you ask me. Might even manage to include the likes of keane/jenas as part of one of the deals.

if we signed doyle then id cry. he is a rubbish player and so un spurs like its not even funny

bellamy is ten times the player he is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

    I would +100 mickman,

I like the guy because he's Irish and I'm delighted for him that he seems to be getting a big move but to take him over Bellamy is madness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

If we bought young where do we play him we already have Modric bale and kranjcar that can play on the left

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Swap with Bentley and let him battle it out with Lennon :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

Can young play right and left?

I wouldn't mind him tbh, how much are they saying? With millner on the way out I couldn't see martin being too happy with letting Young go for cheap.

He's right-footed so he could definitely work on the right, though he's mainly played on the left so that he could cut inside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

What about Bale though? His future IMO is at left mid so maybe a little harsh on him.

I'm not a Spurs fan, but I thought Bentley was outstanding in the games he played and as a sub.

He's the perfect fit with Crouch and a good replacement for Lennon when injured.

I think any of the top clubs would like to have Bentley after the season he's had.

There's still a lot of talk about Harry trying to sign suarez realistically he'd need to agree a deal soon as if he doesn't his price could go through the roof after the world cup. He'd be a pretty big gamble considering not all players can make the transition from holland to England

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,395 ✭✭✭Hatch99

Stephen Ireland - All the ROI Squad status stuff aside - would you like to see him at Spurs ? Discuss.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

    In a word, No!

Good player, maybe even a great player but we seem to have a non-dickhead squad which suits me fine.

In saying that, if he did sign him I'd get on with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,119 ✭✭✭✭event

kevin doyle would be a great signing for ye. he is level headed, wouldnt fall out with the manager, has no problem doing a job for ye on the wing if needed, is lethal in the air without being very tall, is quick, can run all day. he is a very good striker and would be a better signing than bellamy IMO.

bellamy is quality on his day, but will be 31 by the start of the season. he has always picked up injuries and if his pace starts to go, he wouldnt be half the player he is. you dont know when he is going to fall out with the manager either.

luis fabiano would be the best of the lot, but i cant see that happening tbh

dont think we have a non dick head squad. i believe jenas is a dick at best! hutton beat his dad up. BAE has had some strange antics/remarks on and off the pitch. im sure there is more but off the top of my head.

really i think deep down they all think they are the dogs boll@cks and most prob are just sh1tebags but, i like them as footballers and that really is all that matters.

    hmmm,

maybe your right. Although to take Chelsea off the top of my head your talking Droghba Terry Both Coles Anelka and Ballack. I know on a knob scale which is worse between out examples.

I see your point though, it's fair to say that footballers in general are probably more often **** but I see the likes of King and Crouch who both seem to be top blokes.

And you forgot Woodgate and Defoe two prize cocks I'd imagine :)
