I was in my local gun deals place this evening and he said he was finishing up with the guns and just selling the ammo. He had a few guns left and one of them was a brand new Beretta extreme 2. He said he bought it in for €1400 and was selling it at a loss at €1000. It comes with all the usual beretta acesseries including a case and 5 multi-chokes. Ive just bought a turkish over and under. Is it a good gun and a steal at €1000 lads. I'd muchley apreciate and of your opinions on this gun.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG1nEaC6pVg&feature=related

I have one for the last 3 years and i've shot the s***e out of it and it has never failed once. It will cycle anything you give it aswell as 3.5s mr fox loves those by the way:p.If i was you i'd pull his arm off,you wont get a better semi it is without a doubt the best gun i've ever owned.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

well if hes getting rid of shotguns and other bits and bobs you would think you could share with the board ?

you ask for opinions? the youtube video showed a professional, he could of been shooting a spud gun and it would of looked as good as it did, the Beretta itself is what it is, a Beretta , very very good gun, i have had many of them as well as shooting the Beretta extreme 2 i rated in the top 3 shotguns i have used. it does the same job as

    Benelli M4 Super 90
    Beretta AL391
    Striker-12
    Franchi SPAS-12
    Saiga-12
    Remington 1100
    Remington 11-87
    Mossberg 930
    Mossberg SA-20

All quality made Shotguns only one big difference, the price :D, my opinion is give back the O/U and get the Beretta if it is the gun you desire.

Buy 3 new hatsan escort's semi's at 395 each, they have 3 year's warranty each, throw in the bin when each warranty is up, that's 9 years shootin' for the same price. 1,they look the same, 2,they shoot the same, and they will last and recycle anything,333.

I am very sceptical that it is a fully kitted Xtrema 2. Even at 1400 euro is that not a great price for one

It's been a few years since the brother got his one but I thought the top of the range one was like 1600-1800 euro. Well they are 1600 dollars and then throw in shipping and our higher rate of tax.

So if it is the Xtrema 2 with kick off system (or whatever it's called) 3.5" mag etc etc well then it is a super bargain.

Either way the Xtrema 2 is the best semi auto I have used.
    So comfortable to shoot
    Cycles everything
    Practically maintenance free

Just watch out that he's not trying to pawn an original Xtrema off on you

I have a Benelli SBE II which is also a fine gun but it is not as reliable and wont cycle some 28gram loads. It also has to be kept spotless to work well. I'd swap with the brother in 2 seconds.

Unfortunately while the brother owned an original Xtrema we never had the 2 shotguns to compare directly at the same time.

I felt that the receiver on the Xtrema was bigger and bulkier and the Xtrema2 is slimmer and handles better but I could be just talking sh1te there as I said we didn't have both guns at the same time. That's my lasting memory though

The kick off system is only on the 2 and slightly different grey grips/stocks is the only thing I can remember is definitely different looks wise.

    Very different "feeling" guns though.
