Harrassment?

Recently, a regional radio station read out an advertisement which gave the contact details of a family member. The content was derogatory in a subtle way - it seemed innocent but anyone who knows my family member would know that it was making a mockery of them.
The advertisement was not given to the radio station by my family member. Someone else was respnsible. We have contacted the radio station and they are looking into the matter.
My relative was getting calls all weekend about the advertisement and is quite distressed.
Is it worthwhile going to the Gardaí about this? Has the person responsible committed an offence?

We don't do legal advice here.

See a solicitor, you may have an action in civil and criminal law.
