Civil Service - Head to Head Transfer

    Hi,

I'm interested in doing a head to head transfer between offices in the general civil service, I've advertised through my union newsletter and am interested in following up on one. I'm just wondering what my rights are in relation to this, can it be vetoed by management in either of our organisations?

Does anybody know anyone who has done a head to head transfer like this?

    Any information greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    AILS00

I have never done it myself but I know a few people who have. As far as I'm aware you don't have any rights to this transfer, even if someone in another department/organisation at the same grade is willing. It is my understanding that the transfer is entirely at the discretion of those higher up and they can refuse if they wish. That being said, if you do find someone willing to switch with you there is a good chance it will be granted.

Hopefully someone here will give you something more concrete though.
