JSA new job casual work

    Hi,

Tried to find the info I was looking for in the sticky posts but I couldn't find it, so apologies if it has been answered before.

I'm currently on JSA and have been told I might have a job starting next week. It would be a 3 day week working 12 hour shifts but it might only last one week to 6 months depending on their order book.

Am I entitled to JSA for the other 3 days of the SW working week as a casual worker? I will still be looking for full time permanent work.

If I can recieve half my JSA, how do I go about doing it?

If I can't get it is there a way of temporarily signing off JSA as I may only be working for one week?

    Thanks in advance

Go into your local social welfare office and tell them that you have been offered casual work. They will make you fill out a form and then give you slips where you mark what day you worked and what day you didnt. Once you start working you fill out these slips every week and drop them into your social welfare office. Your payment will then be posted out to you in a cheque.
