    Hi,

I have spotted an nice Audi A4(2003), North of the border, for money I am willing to part with. I am looking for the 1.9 diesel(130 break) which I'm hoping it is, but wonder if I'm asking for trouble getting one with this kit on it.

It does sort of scream boyracer, depending on who looks at it. But should I expect the worst from a car like this? I have no one to come up North with me for the "inspection", so i just though I would get input as to what i should really look out for.

P.S. This might go the way of being a taxi in the future, so would it be okay for this, you know lowered and bodykit.

    Thanks in advance
    Neuro

But if the kit is well fitted, with nice wheels and the badges left as they are they can look well. Get it checked though - they are a prime candidate for clocking.

I wouldn't get into a taxi that looked like one.

Actually, it doesn't look too bad.

LOL imo. There was no RS4 in that model, so anyone who knows about these cars will think you're a tosser (esp if you keep the RS4 badges), and anyone who doesn't won't care anyway. Personally speaking I would rather a clean, well looked after Sport model, but each to their own.

Also with these modified RS4 TDi's, rightly or wrongly I always assume they've ahd the backside driven out of them.

    + 1
Nice looking car in fairness, but lose the RS4 badges. At least the kit is well done, doesn't seem to have been fabricated from chicken wire and polystyrene foam like some of them.

Nevermind the backside (altho a hitch/wheely bar would be handy - some lift out of em lad) tis the sump I'd be most worried about...

It would be a bit Dom Jolly as a cab with the RS4 badges on.

I have actually been in Magherafelt, and I know what your talking about :)

I plan to remove the Rs4 and Quattro badges. I also don't like the silver trim in the front and rear bumpers, prefer the OEM black to be honest. While the alloys look good, and are probably reps, there way over used. Might swap them for B6 S4 originals.

My only major concern is that the arse may have been driven out of it :(

IMO I think you should go for a stock A4 of the same year. At least there's a big chance the arse wasn't driven out of it and you can felt it as you see fit :)

These are all changes I would make too if it was my car, the grey mesh always looks hideous on these cars. As bodykits go I think it is one of the better ones, (it's a replica of what's sometimes called the quattro gmbh kit, isn't it?), however at this stage whenever I see one I cringe a little, the image associated with a b6 oil burner with the standard felt onceover is not so good

So I would echo what others are saying trying and get the sport model with the more subtle body kit, like the one in this ad media?id=10012102&width=400&height=300
As far as I remember there was an edition with this kit that had bbs alloys too which still looks well

Thanks god, Im not alone! "RS4" kit.. but thats not at all what an RS4 looks like. I assume a more correct term would be quattro kit or something.

    Actual RS4:

If I had it I would be spraying the B&Q mesh matte black, so at least it kinda looks OEM. The shiny silver look is super super cheap.

Whereas I do like the kitted A4's and a lot of them are finished to a high standard here is a few things I'd do:

Check that the kit is fitted very well

Check if needed can parts of the kit be got afterwards ( Friend of mine had one and had a slight run in with a kerb and damaged the front bumper and he found it very hard to get replacements )

Get the car checked over form top to bottom as the majority of them have had a lot of motorway miles over in the UK and may have been put on blocks and left in reverse for a few weeks :)

If I were you (and I was a few months back) I would do and try get a sport model as said above, at least then you will have a bumper that will be genuine and will take a bit of abuse without cracking and bit falling off. Plus it also had original alloy wheels which in my opinion are 100% stronger than the replicas knocking around.

What I went looking at was a A4 2.5 tdi Quattro, which had the quattro kit, leather int,sat nav etc etc etc which wasnt that more than the 1.9tdi ones I was looking at.. Another thing to note is that most of the kitted A4s are the bog standard famine line models.
