Flying to Orlando with Aer Lingus from Dublin. Was thinking of upgrading my seat to premium ones for the return journey. Has anyone done this and is it worth the upgrade (€275). Was hoping to sleep the whole way home so I can hit the ground running when I get back. Are they comfortable?

    Thanks

As far as I'm aware; on the Orlando route you only get a better seat - none of the usual perks that come with Business Class are offered. Nicer seat: same service in a nutshell.

I got that bit from their email, but was wondering if the seat itself is comfortable and worth the money for the upgrade.

I take the DUB-MCO route a couple of times a year and always pay for the upgrade. True, you are only paying fir the seat and although it's an economy service you do get treated better in the premier cabin.

The seats are angled lie flat, not like a bed but comfortable none the less. On an outbound 9 hour flight it's worth it and most definatly on the way back. Plus you get the premier blankets and pillows that are a lot better than down the back.

Final bonus is, no kids up the front!!

Flew home last week in the premium seats. Boarded the plane first, plenty of room for overhead storage. Seat is comfortable, it lies out straigh but it doesnt actually go horizontal. It sits at a slight angle so you can sometimes feel like you're sliding down it. Managed to get about 5 hours sleep so woke in Dublin at 9am without any real jetlag. Was back to normal the next day.

One of the main bonuses was the lack of kids around and becuase you're up the front the engines aren't as loud. Well worth it.
