We are planning on going self catering in kerry/cork this year to escape the airport hassle. Was thinking of either the Quality Inn Youghal Holiday Homes or Blarney Golf Resort Holiday Homes. Has anyone stayed in either of these or can anyone suggest any good self catering accommodation. Would prefer to stay in a hotel complex or walking distance to a village/town. Have 2 kids 12 and 15 so thought the hotel facilities would be useful for them.

I was in the Blarney Golf Resort yesterday for a meal and the accomodation there looks gorgeous. We had a peek inside one of them, I was very impressed. I don't know how long they've been there but they look very new and they're the nicest holiday homes I've seen in a while. I'll definitely be booking a Golf break down there during the summer.

However it's a good bit out of the way, it's not near Blarney village and the local shops aren't walking distance for the kids so you'd have to drive but it's in a beautiful, quiet location and the staff were lovely.
