Hello everybody, I want to ask a question.
On the day of the test if your car rolls back for the hill start aspect, does one fail the test??
    Thank you very much.

Is this very likely? Biting point before hand-break release.

actually i don't use the handbrake and i don't know the biting point.

the bitting point is when you slowly lift the clutch and you feel the car rise as if its trying to move off

Assuming you have a manual car, you must use the handbrake. If you hold/balance the car on a hill with the clutch, you will burn out the clutch.

This is the general procedure (although it's hard to explain in writing).

Handbrake is on, clutch is pressed fully in.
When you want to go (e.g lights go green), take the clutch slowly out until the front of the car dips slightly (this is the biting point.) You may not notice the car dipping, but you will feel it wanting to move, if it wasn't for the handbrake.
Add a little acceleration, and then release the handbrake. As you come off the clutch the rest of the way, give it a good bit of acceleration (you will need more as you are going uphill).

If you do that, you shouldn't roll back. Just remember to use the handbrake if you are driving a manual. Soon, the thought of not being able to do hillstarts will be laughable.

Also, don't be afraid to give the car some welly and make noise, if you don't think your rev's are high enough, tap the accelerator a bit more!

It is not an automatic fail, depends on a few factors.

But no reason to roll back if you stay calm, find the holding point do your checks and release handbrake
