That marina loop can get pretty boring, don't like the "concrete" section either !

Have a look at the following:
    http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/ireland/cork/252998084

There's a nice 9mile loop between miles 4 and 13 of that map, basically starting/finishing from Harty's Quay on the Rochestown road. There's a good 2mile hill to get up/over as well, but the rest of it is nice+flat.

The Lee road- Anglers Rest- Straight road loop is 6miles/10km. You could incorporate that into a 10 miler, depending on where you live.

Else check out http://corkrunning.blogspot.com/ and see the past running events. There are 4 and 5 milers aplenty in there. You may have to drive to a point and do say two loops, but it would be different.

My favourite place to run in the city is the railway line from Pairc Ui Caoimh down to rochestown, and around that walkway. There is also the walkway down to Passage West, and the walkway from carrigaline to Crosshaven.

I would 3rd the mapmyrun referral for other people's favourites.

    +1

If you add on a loop of Fitzgerald Park at the beginning and the end of that run you should complete a nice 10 mile run.

For ten-milers I do the Monkstown/ railway line alternating with the following:

Motorpoint SAAB Garage (near Railway Station) along Horgan's Quay, out the Lower road, left at Dunkettle into Glanmire, follow road to church in Riverstown and back

Advantages - no killer hills, almost no roads to cross (Silversprings is the only real issue), tarmac surface all the way
