I`m a big fan of the sandwich counter at my work canteen, mainly because the hot food isnt all that fantastic, and there choices are a bit out there sometimes..

Normally I go for a Ham salami and cheese sandwich, but recently I have been leaning towards bacon, chicken and stuffing ? Does anybody know the approx calories of these and which is the better bet in general ? They are pretty generous with the chicken. The bread is your average thick sliced pan.

I'd imagine the best choice would be lean meat of some sort - ham can sometimes be fatty around the edges.... plain chicken would be best, but if they give you a LOT maybe ask for a little less, or pick some out. Maybe avoid the butter/mayo. If you get cucumber or tomatoes that usually gives you enough 'moistness' for your sandwich. Brown bread is the better choice. No cheese. Any salad is fine.

Can't help you with the calories, and can't imagine anyone else can either as we don't know the amounts/weight but I do know that 1 slice of bread is approximately 110cals.

I'd imagine the salami/cheese sandwich would be higher than the chicken one - although the bacon is probably quite high also.

bring your own food would be my suggestion as both are not great options or at the very least bring in some snacks to have during the day - nuts/seeds, fruit etc
