Editing Facebook contacts?

When I link a facebook contact to a phone or google contact the phone number from the facebook account overwrites the numbers of the other two account types. Its there a way to edit the facebook info or prevent it from overwriting the phone numbers of other contacts? This in on a HTC Desire btw.
