Backing up iphone contacts to windows 7 without third party software?

Hi all, Is there a simple way to back up the contacts on an iphone to a file on Windows 7? With XP, I could do it with Windows Address Book. I'd like to be able to back up the contacts to some sort of file regularly that could be used if I lost the phone and had to replace it etc. Thanks!

Well you can sync them with your google contacts

there is an option in itunes

Is "Windows Address Book" in Win7? Not on my home PC to check.

I find it the simplest way to back up contacts.
