So we're goin into the studio to re-record vox for some of our amazing groundbreaking earth-shattering tunes.

    Advice advice.

Any vox recording advice... I'm no idiot, but I'm also not gonna pretend I know everything.

    So let's here it!

What's the best advice you got.

    Pleeeeease.

    Thanks!

    Hi Chris,

All the best for tomorrow. Maybe the best advise would be to listen to the man that's running the session.

He should know what works best in his own place.

    Enjoy the day.

    Warm up.
Make yourself comfortable - vibe vibe vibe!
    Don't overthink it.
Make sure you're happy with your monitor mix.

I always find a little reverb on the vocal back in your cans can make tracking a little easier than hearing yourself dry.

If you know it backwards you know it :)

Also think when you usually sing ie: we're a gigging band doing 250+ gigs a year but usually kick off at 10pm so singing at 10am aint gonna happen EVER !!! so take it into consideration.

The only person to get us singing before 10pm is paul brewer think it was about 7pm o lord felt like the morning :D haha

Warm up, bugger off from the lads even into car for a drive and warm up the pipes to a few tracks while saying your getting something from the shop ;)

main thing is if you dont know the parts, ie: know each word and how long you hold it etc.. for poss double tracking or you will get knocked down confidence wise pretty quick :D

so homework done then go have some fun ;)

Thanks guys... For the record, we stopped recording material in my home studio (out usual thing) and switched to rehearsal for the last two weeks...

We know the parts.. I just wanna really make sure my femsle singer is able to capture that special something in her voice... It's total magic, but I suck at cspturing it... Hoping a proper room and better gear will sort it...

    Thanks again!!

Also, realise that this is the best female vocal ever. No pressure!

the main thing we're recording tomorrow is Everything Is Local:
    http://MySpace.com/theriottapes

There's an opportunity to license it, so it's up first.

If we get a chance we'll also do some voox for a new version if this:
