What's the law with buying a non-alcoholic Becks beer in Spar and drinking it in the same shop at the rest area?

Non-alcoholic beer isn't totally rid of the alcoholic content. I think the becks non-alcoholic still has .5% in it so all regualr laws would still be valid.

It is still 'beer' as set down and defined under the legislative and EU frameworks so it would still be viewed in the same light as if it were a 6 pack of full strength alcohol

Plus you also have to bare in mind, it is not devoid of alcohol content, so issues remain with drinking in public, issues around driving etc

depends on whether non-alcoholic beer is "intoxicating liquor".

It's a definition that goes back to the 19th century, I don't have cassidy's book to hand and the uk has defined intoxicating liquor in statute in 1963 (so their law is now different).
