    Donnacha Costello Biog

There are few artists these days who consistently succeed to focus their passions, talents and instincts into deliciously individual, melancholic, beautiful and timeless recordings. Irish born Donnacha Costello is amongst the highest ranks of such artists.

There can be no question that Costello is in electronic music for the long haul. Since his production debut in 1996, he has forged his very own brand of emotional and highly refined electronic music; timeless club music which has consistently found its way into the crates and playlists of house and techno’s biggest DJs.

Releasing records since 1996, and founding his own label Minimise in 1999, Costello first came to wide-scale international attention with the albums ‚Growing Up In Public‘ and ‚Together Is The New Alone‘ on the legendary Force Inc and Mille Plateaux labels in 2000 and 2001 respectively. However, it was the release of his famed ‚Colorseries‘ in 2004 that brought him wider recognition and placed him firmly at the top of his field.

This success was solidified in 2006 with the release of his now infamous 6x6=36 project on Minimise. 2007 brought another hit with ‚Black Bag Job‘, 2008 saw the iconic It Simply Is/Trust. In 2009, Costello expanded his business to encompass a new label, Look Long. So far, the label has released 4 records from Costello, to critical and commercial success.

The bold outline of the year 2010 brought with it a new project in the form of his first ever long-player with Poker Flat Recordings. ‚Before We Say Goodbye‘ is an exquisite work to say the least. Focusing on a rich blueprint, with echoes of Chicago House, Detroit Techno, and UK Ambient Techno flowing through its futuristic core, Donnacha explores further his love for deep, hypnotising grooves, rich synth themes and emotive harmonies.

Known for his love of classic studio equipment, Costello combines the spontaneity and strong character of his older machines with the finesse of the computer to achieve a hybrid sound that transcends arguments concerning old school versus new school. Such concerns have become irrelevant to him as he pushes forward with the self confidence that 14 years of releasing records and performing all over the globe have brought him.

One of Donnacha‘s main goals is simply to keep on producing music from the heart, and indeed to ensure that the quality is high, thus allowing listeners and buyers a good return. He has set out to communicate, to express himself, and establish emotional connections through music.
    Chymera Biog
Chymera (real name Brendan Gregoriy) hails originally from Cork, Ireland. Throughout his teenage years he was heavily immersed in various forms of guitar based music. After moving to Limerick for a year at the turn of the century to attend college he was first exposed to electronic music. Upon his subsequent move to Dublin he had thrown himself headfirst into DJing, quickly latching onto the various sounds of techno. In 2002 he made his first steps into production and over the following years progressed through electronica and electro to more dancefloor friendly techno and house.

In late 2006 and early 2007 he had his first international releases on labels Urban Torque (As I Am An Exit), Supreme Entertainment and Mezzotinto, the latter of which; "Midnight at the Aquarium", swiftly brought him to the attention of many house and techno luminaries. He followed those up with key releases on labels like Ovum, NRK and Delsin, further cementing his trademark melodic sound in the minds of DJs and music aficionados alike. "Arabesque" (Tishomingo) became one of his most popular tracks and it was also licensed to several high profile mixes (including Luciano´s Fabric 41). As a result of the success of the beatless mix of "Umbrella" (Ovum), he was voted third best chillout artist in the 2007 Beatport awards.

2008 saw him adopt a more considered approach to releases from his new homebase in Barcelona, with tracks on Connaisseur and Figure gathering broader critical recognition. 2009 is shaping up to be his most successful year yet with peaktime techno tracks released on Figure (Sumatra) and Cocoon (Fierenix) and a booming live schedule which has taken him from Asia to North America and all throughout Europe.

    Sunil Sharpe biog

Sunil Sharpe is one of Ireland’s most celebrated underground DJs. Having played at many of Europe’s most dedicated techno clubs like Tresor (Berlin), U-Club (Bratislava), Locked (Manchester) and others, as well as on every scale of the circuit in Ireland, Sunil has also recorded for labels like Open Source, Tonewrecker, Bastardo Electrico and his own Mantrap stamp – a label home to a diverse range of artists like Ed Devane, Rory St John and Magnetize, that has gained quick popularity with many of techno and electro’s big hitters.

Ending a long stint on pirate radio in 2005, Sunil joined 2FM’s Late Night Sessions in late 2006, where each month he supplies his favourite new selections of music as well as live recordings from recent gigs. Sunil’s recent productions have been played and charted by Dave Clarke amongst others – next up from him are remixes on Psychonavigation, Takeover and Static Recordings.

A tutor at Bray Institute of Further Education, where he teaches the DJ Techniques class, Sunil has also continued his long running mission on the frontline at Dublin’s Spindizzy Records, where he still works today. Recent endeavours of his included the programming of club events at 2009’s DEAF festival, in its sadly last, but arguably best year.

Typical; first Dave Spoon cancels and now the one decent indigenuous line-up is thrown into the ****ing POD more than likely because of lack of ticket sales.

I'd nearly have a better sound rig at home and there was shag all attempt to VJ / mixed crowd but the 3 lads were top notch and a good night was had by all.
