    Hi,

I would like to know about the tax codes. Revenue doesn't give any information about them.
Does anyone have a clue what does it mean?

    PAY REL. CODE: A1
    PAY REL. CODE: A0

They are PRSI contribution classes. Go to http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Topics/PRSI/Pages/prsiclasses.aspx

You can check your calculations at this link:

I wrote the spreadsheet - feel free to PM me here if you need a hand using it.

    Thanks a million.
I cannot get any numbers out of it. Could it be because I have a Mac?

I cannot get any numbers out of it. Could it be because I have a Mac?

I'd guess that would be a problem- I created it in Windows and haven't tested it in Office for Mac.
It has some fairly heavy duty formulae / VB code so there's a chance that it would probably breakdown in Macs, unfortunately.

You should be able to get a good approximation (it's usually 100% right in straightforward cases but may be slightly off in certain situations) at a Java site- http://taxcalc.eu - which uses a Java form rather than a spreadsheet.

Are you based in the UK (this is an Irish site)?
If so, I think it refers to your annual Tax free allowance i.e. you're able to earn £8900 pa before paying tax (10 times the tax code number).
The £8900 is spread out over the full year
