Credit card application documents required?

Just applied for an MBNA credit card. They have asked me to fax them in a copy of passport/driving license, utility bill and 3 months bank statements.

Is this normal? I've had a few cards before in N Ireland and never had to send in so much stuff. Thought it may have been a scam but it's definitely the official MBNA site I went through etc.

On a side note, any other cards better than MBNA?

Fair enough, just wasn't sure so thought it better to ask someone.

    Thanks.
