Couch25k question

I'm just over halfway through the much-vaunted (and much criticised also) couch to 5k plan, and while last week I had some trouble finishing the programme, and only really got comfortable with the distances by day 3, this week has been a bit of a 'mare - each run was cut short and my legs are still a little sore 3 hours after finishing.

In order not to lose motivation completely and start eating cakes again, I'm trying to decide whether to return to last week's programme and continue doing it for another week (at least), or keep trying this week's programme and staying with it for as many weeks as it takes to complete.

I'm thinking because I just about cleared last week's by day 3, I should avoid going backwards and work on completing this week's no matter how long it takes, but at this point, this week's looks insurmountable.

    Any advice?

Mods will probably move this to the Athletics and Running forum, but I imagine the advice you get there will be to go back to last weeks training. Only progress as and when you are comfortable with the progression. Same goes for all training really, running, weights, cycling. Don’t get lazy, but if you simply find it too hard, then repeat the previous week, same if you miss a week don’t be afraid to repeat the last week you did. Move on when you feel you can.
