Nike Lunar Racers

I was in a sports shop today and couldn't get over how light these shoes were. I have seen a good few people recommending them on here and am thinking of getting a pair.
Just the following questions for anyone in the know. I was initially diagnosed as Neutral (gait) and wore pegasus for a year or so. I started to get a few ankle issues after longer runs and was reassesed as a moderate pronator.

I have mixing between Lunar Glides (longer and easy runs) and Asics DX trainers (races and speed sessions) for a few months and all niggles have cleared up.

So would Lunar racers offer me enough support/stability?

Maybe I would realistically be better using them for short (under 10k) races?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts...

I really like these racing shoes.
positive:good energy return and less fatigue after workouts
    very light
    look good:D

Negative:like most racing shoes they break down very fast and a tad over priced.

Love these shoes too. Got so used to them that I went through about 4 pairs of them in training for Barcelona in March! I've now toned down my obsession and alternate between Lunar Racers & Lunar Elites!

I love the fact that they're so light, I don't need any heavy weights on my feet when I'm running (I run slow enough as it is anyway!) so having these feathers on my feet help, or at least in my mind they help!

    Can't recommend them enough!

Are you a totally neutral runner? Do they offer any support to a moderate pronator? I couldn't see myself using them for long runs, just the short races.

Nope, not a totally neutral runner at all. I'd be in much the same boat as yourself with regards pronation and paid the price for it after running Barcelona in them. (ankle pain etc etc)

I now have orthotics so am going nicely in them but as you say they'd be suitable for anything up to 1/2 marathon I reckon. (But I'm by no means an expert!)

I love my Lunar racers. I can't imagine racing in anything else.

My first pair has lasted for over 550 miles by now. I still use them for workouts.

By the very nature of the shoe they do not give you tons of supports or cushioning, though considering how lightweight the shoe is, the amount of cushioning is actually amazing.
