Im trying to compile every law and every right that applies to us in Ireland.

Does anybody have any advice as to how to go about it? or if there is already somewhere where every law and right can be accessed? would it be possible to request this from the dept. of Justice?

    Thanks for any help

Not sure about it as it was a while back, but I was waiting in my family solicitor's office so I decided to inform myself a bit by looking through some books and I'm fairly sure I came across something like this spread between a couple of volumes. By this I mean a published version, not privately made by himself.

    But I could be mistaken.

The problem here is, the minute you publish the book (assuming it gets to that stage etc) is that once a new law comes into force, your book (which you will have spent years perfecting etc) will become out of date.

Plus all the laws of the land are freely available on both http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/ and http://www.oireachtas.ie/ so functionally, would any compilation be of much benefit?

Thanks for all the helpful links guys, I should find all I need with them

( even the *obvious* LMGTFY link, which you deserved the facepalm for, and it was a tiny url, thats a hint if you want to post a LMGTFY link in the future :) )

eagle & bear, its not for a book sadly, its for a site so I can keep 'em updated as they change with the helpful links

    Thanks again

I just don't see the point of it -absolutely no offence at all

but it would not be a ''trusted'' site like IrishStatuteBook.ie which is controlled by the Attorney Generals Office or Oireachtas.ie which is controlled by the Department of Justice

Plus, on a practical side, when you hand in legislation to court, it comes in a formal style from certified sites. I'm just wondering if your best intentions will fall fowl

    thats all

best of luck on the business venture

It would be great if you could translate legislation into rules in lay mans terms. That would make things a bit earier on the eye, even to those of us versed in legislation it all still gets quite tedious sometimes!

There is a citator service available from Westlaw which does that nicely. Not sure whether it is as available as it was, but I use it in work to see what statute, section or cases have arisen in relation to same, on a per section basis.

Justis has it aswell but it is more comprehensive for the UK cases but some of the bigger Irish cases have it aswell! very handy tool, same with JustCite ... takes time but its good too
