If she is sound currently you should see the next 5 years out of her no bother at all without huge expense. Servicing, brake pads, timing belt etc aside you might not have to shell out much more unless she needs shocks or the like.

I'd class CV boots and joints etc as normal wear and tear :) If she is sound though you could well escape very lightly over the next 5 years. Of course if you are unlucky the turbo could go, along with the clutch, you could get injector probs but you'd be very unlucky to have all three issues.

bit of a vague question..... how long will you get out of the car ??? too many things to consider.

    - your driving style
    - roads you'll be using
    - regular service/maintenance
    etc etc

basically you could get 15-20years - depending on how well you look after it and assuming of course that some idiot doesnt crash into you.

you could on the other hand get 12months and get plagued with problems - and eventually get rid of it 'cos its costing too much in repairs.

Personally I'm boarderline get rid of my 03 fiesta van ... 80k on the clock last 12months have spent over 1K on running repairs (including an oil leak that the mechanic couldnt actually find - I bought a can of stuff which stops oil leaks and it did the trick) ....im guessing it was a crack in one of the tubes somewhere.... either way ... its sorted at the moment

I would steer well clear of the 1.6 primera. Gearbox issues are common and costly to repair. Even with low mileage. Oh and it sounds very pricey to me at 7500!

Timing belt needs doing every 60K which includes water pump and rollers.Budget approx €400/500.They do have a heavy engine up front so look at the suspension.Wife has an Octavia tdi(Same engine as Golf). In 2 years it's required 2x front shock,2x Track rod ends and 1x Strut. Not to bad as roads round my way are cat.
