    hey everyone,

I have recently been contemplating this question and thought id ask it here too. Do you feel comfortable with your partner outside urban environments?

Im from mayo myself and to be perfectly honest im not too sure would i feel comfortable enough to show any affection in public in a rural environment, compared to that of say Dublin where it wouldn't bother me.
    Anyone else experience this?

Does handling the tutting dissaproval of a hotel receptionist in Castlebar after emphasising I'd booked a double room count?

I wouldn't be one for PDoA's whether in Dublin or in the sticks, mind.

It really depends on the mood I'm in. I wouldn't go around making a big deal of showing affection in public in general but it wouldn't stop me from greeting a partner with a hug or kiss on the lips when we meet / part ways, if we were so inclined. It really depends on the norm of the relationship, no everyone is comfortable with it so I wouldn't expect it of everyone.

I'm with my other half a year now and I have no problems with PDA'a, to be honest it wouldn't matter what county I was in, I wouldn't give a **** because it's no ones business who I love but mine and if any of them had issues with it I'd just remind them that that last sheep they shagged was male so tecnically that makes them a much sicker version of gay than the vanilla variety

I wouldn't have stayed there and would have called on the manager to explain why.

I suspect the person behind the reception desk WAS the duty manager, unfortunately. Crap hotel, I'll know to avoid in future and at least its not the only option in the town. I did get the double room though!

By comparison the Days in Galway (now the Carlton) even proactively asked me if I wanted a double instead one time when I was travelling with a male friend and had booked a twin!
