Question about Dole

Hi I hope I am posting in the right section. Anyway, about two weeks ago I signed onto the dole. My claim was put in and I was told my claim would be reviewed and I would get word within the next two weeks. I'm 19 years old, I have a decent LC (plan to maybe repeat in future), and I live at home with my mother, single parent.

Anyway, they gave me a temporary card on the day, and said it would hold me over until they processed my perma one. A few days later in the post, the permanent, proper card arrived, but still no word on whether or not I have qualified.

That's the thing ; I thought the letter with my card was going to tell me where/when I draw and how much etc, but it was just instructions on the card itself. As confused as I was, I was wondering why would they give me this card if I got no word of whether or not I am liable? It's been two weeks and still no word, so what should I do? Is it worth my time to try and draw and see what happens?

Some people are waiting 3 or 4 months. Check the sticky at the top of the page to see if anyone in your area has submitted a waiting time. With the "go slow" and the lack of work they want to do at the moment, that wait could be quite some time, unfortunately.

I would go into them and ask them if they have any indication or estimate on when your claim will be dealt with. It's a horrible wait mate :(
