Hi all, would just like some advice from you all here. I'm overweight and obviously want to get healtier. I'm a bit self conscious to go the the gym - i know i shouldn't - but i've decided to go out golfing more often, perhaps 3 times a week to begin with. I'm sure that i should be doing more than this, but it is a good start perhaps? And perhaps if i lose a bit of weight doing this, i could then join a gym.

Also my big problem is snacking at night. Due to the career i'm in, i often work late. I've tried to stop but it's too hard at times. I'm never hungry in the morning and sometimes don't eat until 6pm in the evening and i'm sure this contributes to the problem.

I'm not sure if i could stop doing this, so does anyone know of any healty "snacks" that i could eat. I wouldn't mind cereal perhaps, but i've heard it's not as healty as it's made out to be?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.:)

You don't play golf to lose weight. If you want to lose weight, you need to break a sweat. Golf is too leisurely to gain any results from. Go to the gym first, don't wait to see if you lose weight from golfing, because frankly, I doubt it will ever happen.

post up your full daily diet as it stands and be honest. also post your current weight etc.. if gold three times a week is the only exercise you can manage your going to have to keep a VERY clean diet tbh... can you not do some other exercise that doesnt involve a gym? run, brisk walk, cycle, body weight exercises or buy a set of dumbells?
