Well lads, got me new fox call in the post today!
    tn_2.JPG

Bought it off Ebay for around £16 inc p&p!
It also comes with a lanyard for a little extra!

These calls used to be on the market years ago and vanished all of a sudden! I recon there better than any electronic devise, and with a little practise can be better than anything else out there!
They also have to be broken in so to speak, so the more you use it the better it gets!
Also shop around, you'd probably pick one up cheaper than what i paid!

I got mine at Fox Call UK (www.foxcalluk.co.uk) at a similar price ;) Haven't had much use yet, but seems very easy to use and keeps both hands free while using it.

the work very well indeed, and are easy to keep in your mouth while taking the shot.

I have one of these, havent used it properly yet,. the plastic screw setup is a disaster, I binned them and fitted m6 stainless set screws and nyloc nuts!

If you like this type you should have a look at the Primos preadator caller, I got a few years ago, the range of calls is massive, and fit completely in your mouth. They do take a bit of practice to get right however

I have one, haven't had much success with ii. I prefer to use the wam caller, have a lot more success with that. I find the fox pro a bit too loud.

I have a wooden crow caller, one piece but similar idea. Some laugh talking to crows even if not hunting them.
I was given it as a present but he wanted €20 for it. They are nice mind you

Spit and Aeroboard/expanded polystyrene do the same job!
    And require no skill!

.243 are you seeing much foxes? I have not seen any in the past few evenings but I have not been out much in the evening/night.

Cubs should be a few weeks old at this stage on the cusp of venturing out to explore

ive had a couple of those nights lately where nothing at all stops them let alone gets any attention ,
my next door neighbour lost 4 lambs in the space of two weeks(nailed two out of three that were in the field of sheep),
we are a 5 acre field away and my uncle never lost one dispite me nailing a dog fox in the middle of the flock last week,
and a the neighbour on the far side has a hobby flock of chickens and has been leaving them out and they havn't been touched,
this is all inside a radius of about 600yrds and as of the rest of my local area very very quiet not even eyes in the distance,
it think the winter cold snap has set everything back so id say after next week is expecting to going back cold id be giving it another 2-3 weeks before they appear out of the ground

Suits me, I'll have my exams over by then!
There are plenty of young rabbits around me and the foxes usually have their cubs to coincide with them.

If you need any additional varminting give me a PM in June. I'll have a lot of free time to kill pardon the pun :D

No what ya mean! The old type had rivets, no screws! Think the purpose is to vary the pitch!
