Depends on where you get your NI channels from.
It could be a relay and they don't have digital yet and won't untill late 2012.

Can you receive channel 5? at the moment only people that can get that in analogue are generally in a strong enough signal area from Divis for example to receive the low power digital from there. It will be very high power from late 2012 so then you are in with a good chance of receiving it properly.
ch5 by the way comes from black mountain, near Divis but it's a good rule of thumb as to receivability of Divis digital.

Post a pic of your aerial :) as I suspect it's vertically polarised pointed to kilkeel in co down-so no digital untill late 2012 from that one.

Your TV sounds like it is mpeg2 whereas the irish digital is mpeg4 meaning that you would only get sound and no pictures from irish digital.
Irish digital is on test untill october when it is mandatory that they switch on all 4 irish channels fully.
For the moment it's subject to all kinds of interuption.

If you are willing to experiment, you may be lucky enough to receive digital from the isle of man or NW England/SW scotland across what is a good seatrack.

We'll help you with that but it will mean spending up to a few hundred euro to be honest but on equipment that can be used for kilkeel if the GB signals don't work out :)

yes this is the set up i have at the moment,i was hoping it would be just a matter of plug-in and play with the my existing equipment,so other than puting my my aerial on the horizontal and moving it to point at the uk/iom what more do i need

Theres no guarantee that repointing towards the IOM/NW England will work.

The IOM tx is group B like kilkeel but you may have too much interference from RTE's Cairn hill tx in longford to get anything.

You can try but ,it's going to cost you a few bob if you are going to get an installer out for you and you would have to really.
Theres no guarantee either that they would have a digital meter and you do need to tightly focus the aerial with a meter.

On Sunday I purchased an Aldi Medion 19" LCD TV with Freeview and when I turned it on he asked me if I wanted to select auto installation which auto tunes all the channels which I did.
On completion of the auto tuning it had picked up all the UK Freeview channels in the Digital TV mode but then it automatically turned off. I re-powered the TV but the Freeview channels have since disappeared and when I redo an installation and auto tune it does not find the channels again. I spoke to a Medion technical support person and he said that if the TV picked them up the first time then it should do it again, there is no technical reason as they why it powered off and lost the Freeview channels or at least that is what he is saying, I'm a conspiracy theorist !!!

I'm in County Louth just outside Drogheda, has anybody else had a similar experience, any thoughts ?

    hey Yoda

are you using an aerial or a dish, I have a Philips LCD tv with built in decoder and i get all the UK freeview channels on an aerial, but, depending on the weather it can come and go,

I live in wicklow so i think it get the channels from Wales,

I wonder is it possible to get them on a dish..
