Just realised, found out that the old HSE job I had for a couple of summers is definitely gone. What are the chances of getting summer job in a pharmacy at this late stage? Even if I say moved to Galway/Dublin.

As an educated guess, not a hope. Pharmacies are operating at lower margins now than in the past thanks to changes in contracts and people spending less on cosmetics and the like. As a result many are opening shorter hours or with fewer staff, so are well covered for holidays. I'd say the only way to get a job in a pharmacy this summer is to do so on a voluntary basis. The minimum wage really makes it uneconomic to take people on, in my opinion.

Again, probably not an option - most companies simply aren't hiring at present and have no summer placement scheme this year (unlike in past years - it's what got me started!)

That's a pity, was a great opportunity to see what the story was with other career routes.
