I had to go into town this morning to collect something. Parked up anyways, didnt bother paying for parking as I thought I would only be a few minutes. Ended up taking longer than expected though and when I came back to the car I noticed the dreaded parking ticket under my wiper.

I picked up the ticket however, and lucky as can be the parking inspector got my license plate number wrong. The digits on my license plate are 3389 and he wrote down 3388!

Anyone else ever catch a similar lucky break?

Don't they take a photo of your licence plate aswell though, that might come back to haunt you

You shouldn't have given part of your reg away.

The parking inspector is probably on AH right now and will do his research and issue you with the correct summonse. They also carry digital cameras.

I joined an American company once.
Was there for 3 months and they got taken over.
They told everyone not too leave, and if we were made redundant they'd give us 3 months wages.

So I ended up working there for 3 months, then being made redundant but getting 3 months + 1 month in lieu of notice tax free. Basically Ir£10k tax free, and that was when the jobs market was still booming.

i get the 17 bus from blackrock the odd time (it's one of those essentially non-existent services where the timetable is hypothetical). once i was walking up the road as the bus went by. i had to run 3 hundred yards to the bus stop, and the bus was only a tiny bit behind me, when a randomer pulled his car out in front of it and waved at me to run on! absolute legend.

I was working in a job that i was planning on jacking up to go traveling. I was going away at the end of July but wanted to take the whole month of July off to chill and sort stuff out. Decided not to tell any management about it and just give them the required 3 weeks notice. Anyways in early June the company had huge problems and was shifting departments back to Germany. So they offered the choice to move to Germany or take a severence payment of 5k. I was going to tell them about me leaving on the Monday except i didn't see my manager. Then on Tuesday i find out about the severence thing. So got 5k i wouldn't have got if i'd seen management the day beforehand and handed in my notice.

One fine evening I was out driving in the countryside, I came over the crest of a hill only to be confronted with an oncoming BMW over taking another car coming up the hill from the other side. It would have been curtains or bedpans for scumlord only for there was a T junction on the left that I could dart into just as the Beamer flew by. Considering the speeds involved I have no idea how I was able to duck in and out of the junction missing the car and the ditches on either side of the road.
