Breaking novice

    I’m sure a similar question has been asked before but I searched through the forum and couldn’t come up with the answer.
    If someone was part of the winning county team (but their club didn’t score) in a Leinster Novice road race what implications does that have? Does this mean you’ve broken your novice and can’t compete/score for their club in Leinster novice road races again? If this is the case does it affect Dublin novice road races? I presume it has no affect on National novice road races or cross country races?

    If you were a scoring member of a winning County Novice team in a Provincial Championship, you loose your novice status for your County and Provincial championships. You are still eligible for National Novice.

    Cheers Hardworker, but can I still race provincial novice road races (leinster and dublin for me) and score for my club (whilst not being able to score for county)? Thanks

    I don't think you can take part in Novice races at County or provincial level anymore. Check it with your county board as some of the smaller counties have amended novice rules to allow people back in after a few years.
