Love it when Jack executes women in cold blood. Anyone else might be called a serial killer who likes to hurt women, but not Jack Bauer. He just makes it all seem ok! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,379 ✭✭✭thebigcheese22

Seemed kinda bad form to kill an unarmed woman...she's no Nina like!

Also no silent clock, bitch didn't deserve one!

    Great episode.

But all this President Taylor bowing to Logan is just getting frustrating. I'm all for Jack v the Russians, and I guess this establishes the story, but Taylor has gone from strong, proud and moralistic to clueless, out of control and corrupted by Logan in about 4 hours, completely ignoring anyone around her's advice, especially Ethan and Woods etc, its just completely unbelieveable and a bit forced.

If she's impeached at the end somehow, I'll be happy.

That said, it was still a great episode, and I'm glad Jack off'd Dana considering she broke the agreement and thus Jack didn't have to keep his word. I was worried for a long time that Cole's killing of the two scmucks from earlier would come back to haunt him, but it seems to have been left in the past, thank God.

3 more weeks of 24 and then it's allllllll over.

    brilliant episode.

Dana was some piece of work.. I had expected Cole to put a bullet into her head, but good on you Jack.

Killing the interrogator was class - could be an all time classic..

Him: you won't take the shot, its too risky. I will k...
    Jack: Bang
    Dana: Shriek
    Cole's face: Priceless :-)

I'd say Cloe will switch to Jack's side with that smug fecker running the show.

Also loved Jack shooting the cop in the toe and apologising before

Have I mentioined that I love this show?

Another great episode. I loved the raiding of the hideout where Dana was being held, her "rescue" and all the other chasing people with guns bits.

Interesting they should use waterboarding on Dana. As a serious swimmer, the actress was probably better placed than most to endure acting that part. She's had her detractors but I thought she did quite well this episode, and Dana got her just desserts in the end. And no silent clock!

Classic 24. If it has to end, great to see it go out with such high calibre episodes.

    So now that Dana is gone, how does everyone view her? It's obvious everyone HATED her but was she;

    A) A great, well written 24 villain, who got you to hate her, and whose downfall you were waiting for as a sort of come-uppance for her crimes? Or,

    B) An awfully written character who you hated because of her story/acting/etc, whose downfall you were happy to see just to get her off the screen.

Definitely B - when she was revealed as the mole, things got good and the character was infinitely better but all her actions up to that point (more than half a season's worth) made absolutely no sense at all (especially given how much of the plan was resting on her shoulders) and it still seems like the writers just did a complete U-turn with her at that point.

Though after the reveal and how much of a b*tch she was, it was good to see her "pay" for what she had done. It also seems Jack is after everyone who had a hand in Renee's death and definitely didn't seem to stick by his own statement to Cole that Dana was simply a small part of it... I think there's a good chance he would have killed her even if she didn't try to run.

The encounter with the cops was pretty funny ("do you know who I am?!") and I particularly liked Jack telling the bystanders to call an ambulance because two officers were down (er, yeah... he just went all Jack Bauer on them, that's why they were down :)).

Hmm with hindsight - B. Her story/character just didn't gel for me. If they had portrayed her as a two faced bitch at the beginning (before killing the parole officer) instead of that sobbing, annoying mole... just one or two sceens where in private the shows that she is playing CTU and Cole (like the screen where she calls 911) - well all would have been different.

Jack: "DO you know who I am?!"
Cop: Errr - NO. I mean YES, you are the armed and dangerous bloke we are supposed to apprehend, aren't you???
Jack: for that, I shoot you in the foot.

Why did Jack go to all the trouble of getting an arsenal off Michael Madsen last week and then just immediately ditch it. Some of that gear might have come in handy during the bust-out of Dana.
Hell, Jack even went into that confrontation without the satchel-of-death.
    Pushing his luck methinks..........

As for Dana it's pretty clear that the interns were allowed write the scripts for the first half of the season with the more senior writers only coming back from their holliers about 11 episodes in. :pac:

    Awesome ep !

Silent clock ? really ? not for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,835 ✭✭✭unreggd

    Great episode!

I dunno what to make of Jack killin Dana though. Either he always planned to off her for being invovled in Renee's death, or he thinks she actually did kill Cole

I thought the deposit box might be a bomb, stupid Cole starin at the beepy box!

I liked Dana as 2 halves, but together it didnt gel. As was said plenty, she wouldnt have gone through all the Kevin drama if she was a mole from the get go.
Woulda been better IMO if someone used her personal stuff as a way to frame her, then maybe Arlow end up bein the mole or somethin

    anyways!......

Wonder where Jacks goin next. I'm surprised CTU didnt intervene. He was in that buildin long enough

Hope he puts the video on YouTube!

her as a two faced bitch at the beginning (before killing the parole officer) instead of that sobbing, annoying mole...

did they ever find that parole officer, he's been in the air duct for a while, probably starting to smell the place out..

    SM

think there'l be any reference back to cole killing the accomplice of dana's ex? Not many episodes left.

    Great episode :D

I agree with this - at the beginning of the season her role was almost redundant and scenes were boring. As the season progressed though, the character became more interesting and more focal to the evolving plotline.

However, I cannot help but feel this entire season is also rehashing old plots from previous seasons. Cole being the trusted agent at CTU, Dana his lover turning out to be a mole .... compared to season 1 with Jack and Nina etc .,.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,835 ✭✭✭unreggd

Yeah, even her death mirrored Nina's

Good episodes. Jack Bauer at his best shooting the interrogator and Dana. She was never getting a silent clock. Great scenes.

1 point which I keep meaning to mention is that Freddie Prinze Jr. is a really **** actor. He delivers every line in the same monotone unbelievable way. It really grates me.

Watching Dana get executed was great, almost made up for her inexplicable actions & story.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,485 ✭✭✭Mr. K

Dana's execution was very similar to the moment when Jack finally killed Nina in Season 3. I assume there was some intent to make Dana the new Nina, considering the way she was apprehended in CTU.

Another good episode. Lots of Jack = Good episode.

Taylor giving Logan free rein is still rather silly, I'm sure it'll come back to bite her! I hope Jack has an awesome showdown with the Russian guy who killed Renee, he's too smug.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Have to say the character of Dana was excellent in this episode. Being sweet to Cole one second and then knocking him out the next. Jack killings tonight were some of the best. His run in with the Russian looks great. Logan fantastic as usual with Taylor realising now that she is powerless with regards to him. Really strong end to the season.
