    List anything that annoys you about our great game! I'll start;

    Playing rubbish
    Hitting 26 or lower
    Marking
losing a game for your team
    Wayne Mardle

I could go on but that is all I can think of at the moment!:)

Playing bad in a doubles event...or team event for that matter, that's the worst

    Oh, and yeah....Wayne Mardle

I hate that the board is awful small when you compare it to the size of the darts really.

The fact that I usually have to have a few drinks to throw my best darts in a competitive game. When at home I can throw my best darts sober, thats just the way it goes though.
When I beat myself and not my opponent.
Letting the team down by losing.
Having to put a lot of practise and knowing that i'm still not the player I want to be.

people who can't mark and you have to keep rechecking your score
when your playing a bad player and your game just drops
throwing your first dart and it nearly goes out of the board then your next two are in the treble (don't hate the treble bit but it just wrecks my head how it can happen)
    losing;)

bad callers, especially the ones you cant hear and dont call whats left, and not calling for order before game starts (in league matches)
premier league crowds, definitely not darts fans.
bad counters, very frustrating to watch a player going for wrong shots.

first dart bang in the middle of the treble and the next 2 go into 5 and 1

I must post up an email conversation I had with Wayne mardle last year. Think you'll get a laugh out of it.

    The wire.
    Darts bouncing off the wire.
    Double one.
Getting a treble barely, only for another dart to get a single, and somehow knock the treble out.
Getting an excellent score, only to find out that you've gone bust.

    Bounce outs.
    My level of ability
Missing single numbers when trying to leave a double

How incredibly frustrating the sport is.

the one thing i really hate is when you are playing someone who misses a double against you and you are about to throw for a finish and your opponents mate shouts dont worry next time,....its so disrespectful

im shock i havent seen an anagram here for DINO yet, really really suprised.

anyway i hate the fact im not as good as Phil Taylor or any other phil for that matter.
    Sid Waddell.
3 (its the big 1 thats the hard part)
    losing
    wining but playing badly
losing my bottle at key times
barney's constant excuses, theres loads more too.

    Sid Waddell
    inconsistency

I for one have no problems with the INDO m8, wud love to play for my country, just some of the set ups they have are dated, like at the moment im trying to get an up to date rankings list, like hens teeth...

Playing a muppet that hits treble 12's and double 18's all the way down, then clings a poxy double 17 with his first dart and then thinks hes a great player.
People hitting my leg as Im throwing.
Guys deliberatly trying to bustle you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 773 ✭✭✭D_murph

Sid Waddell's BS commentary first and foremost. (slack darts for anyone other than Taylor etc etc ).

    Bad markers and callers.

Putting in a lovely marker right over T20 that just begs for at least one of the other 2 to go in under it but none come even close :(.

Hitting a 5 or a 1 when throwing for tops. Especially with your last dart. Worse than a kick in the b******s .

Trying to finish 3 or 5 and busting it by hitting 20 or 18 going for the 1.

26s and the like. Enough said...

The shower of clowns in the crowd at the Premier League this year doing all the booing. Totally out of order IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 420 ✭✭KrazeeEyezKilla

Aiming for 20 and making sure I don't hit a 5 or 1 only to hit it too high and miss the board.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 804 ✭✭✭paulcorr

Players who rattle darts behind your back, markers who dont write your score only what your left, how if someone makes a mistake in the scoring can you pull them up if there is no score written down.players shouting at themselves when they have a bad score like come on you fxxxxxg stupid cxxt.Heard that during a match last year.players been all lovey dovey during a game time for that after you whip there arse ha ha ha.And the one thing that really drives me mad when they keep shouting out SOLID after every throw even a 41 or 45 wrecks my head.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 124 ✭✭thedivil

People shouting good darts when you or the other player score under 60.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 294 ✭✭Kieran81

2 world championships; tony green on bbc every year when scrolling down past winners of the world title comes to eric bristow and always has to say ''5 time champion ...will never be beaten''...c'mon tony ; dave clarke on sky sports, chap couldnt buy charisma; people not acknowledging players as sportsmen, how is a snooker player or a golfer (just random choices) any more a sportsman there are plenty of sports in the world where mental toughness and ability to produce under pressure is of much greater significance than athleticism

A little piece of me dies everytime i hear the sky phrase

    "they've got previous"

Marking. It would be the main reason i wouldnt play an open.
If only they would do it like poker and have the players pay a small extra reg fee to have someone mark the boards like dealers deal the cards instead of a self dealt tournament.

Are you serious, having 8-16 boards and paying markers for each? Marking is a great way to learn the numbers, learn the shots and getting free pints.

I love marking, and being left-handed gives me an advantage when the scoring is to the right of the board. :D

    What I hate about darts:

    - It's reputation for being a sport for overweight people who like to drink. I never touched a drink in my life.

    - It's reputation for not being a real sport. If that's the case, why is rally driving a sport? All they do is drive?

    - The first couple of months of playing darts when you're looking for the perfect barrel, shaft and flight. That was headwrecking screwing on new sizes constantly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 585 ✭✭✭Niall_76

So how long does this "first couple of months" last? Haha

I only throw every now and again and have not played competitively but i still tinker with the set up all the time.

Agreed, whenever Taylor plays Painter they always reference the "squabble" they had 9 years ago. I mean ffs, Taylor and Painter have obviously gotten over it, why can't Sky?
