Aperature PP Questions...

I have a few questions for Aperture users. I have all my photos stored on my computer say for example Desktop/Pictures/Album1. Now I want to add these to my aperture library, but I do not want these to be stored twice on my computer. For some reason if I import them even by storing them 'in the location' or in 'aperture library' it still takes up significant space on my hardrive.
Is there a way to use Aperture with all my photos but to leave them where they are and also so that they dont take up MORE space on my hardrive then they already do.
    Hope that makes sense!

Just import and leave in location. Aperture just adds a tiny file with its data. Should achieve what you want.
