Help on replacing light switch

    We have a faulty switch on a 2-switch plate for the downstairs toilet (light & fan).

    I bought a 2-way double switch unit from B&Q, but on the new unit there's L1, L2 and COM and on the old unit there's L1, L2 and L3.

    The L3 positions aren't wired to anything in the old unit.

    I tried replicating the L1 and L2 wiring assignments in the new unit but it didn't work.

    Anyone know what the wiring assignment would transpose to on the new L1, L2 and COM unit? I think it's...

    Old L1 -> New Com
    Old L2 -> New L1
    Old L3 -> New L2

    ...but I'm not too sure.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    old L1 goes into com
    loop a wire into the other com also
    connect fan into L1
    connect light into other L1
    make sure power is off when working with electrics
