Liam Shannon is going to be a beast at 77kg. Has he fought there before? I thought he was a LHW that dropped to MW

Well cathal is already a huge 77kg. Very appropriately named colossus

Liam would easily be the largest ww iv ever seen, also been in the game a long time so think he will take that fight

Also think Paul cowzer will win his fight

Liam woz LHW but has dropped to 77kg;) He was meant to fight Richard Gorey in Newry at this weight but Gorey woz injured.

Cathal and Liam both physically big lads but I think both interested in makin this a technical fight and it should be cracker:cool:

Cowzer and Quinn will be interesting!!! Rab ambitious fighter (so much so on his debut he took two fights lol) and Paul is such talented all round fighter and every fight Ive watched him Ive never been disappointed.

Will this show be bringing back the four man tournament?

Originally it was an 8 man tournament, although only 6 fought on the night, they gave a 'golden ticket' to one of the defeated guys and he ended up winning the prize. Some guy from England won it I think he beat Mervyn Mulholland in the final.

I'd love to see it back but without the 'golden ticket'

No. Don't get rid of the 'golden ticket'...I love the idea of pounding down all the chocolate bars in the arena hoping to find mine.

    Hi Mikey

The link you have given is quite clearly to www.fight.ie and not the Cage Contender website which is www.cagecontender.net

Whilst my company does indeed own both websites in question they run as seperate businesses. www.fight.ie is for all in Irish MMA to use, since it's launch it has always had an events listing, as well as club listings and lots more. And on that point next week will see fight.ie include a full social network (simlar to facebook etc)

Hopefully this clears the issue up..... And no it's not a tactic to corner the market ;)

I totally agree, Cathal is a UFC sized WW. I grappled with both last year (i think, or maybe the year before for Liam) and I felt Liam was stronger and heavier, which he was, cos I think he was at LHW.

I think it's going to be a beast of a fight, I think Liam is the bigger guy but with the cut he'll have to go through (presumably anyway), I think the strength, power and conditioning may be even on the night.

I think the Cowzer/Quinn fight is another one with potential for fire works. Again I'd reckon Cowzer will have a size advantage, I think Cowzer and McCoombe are similar sized and both dwarf the rest at this weight. Hopefully this will be an opportunity for us to see the two boxers let their hands go.

I am really old...so there's a good chance I could die of natural causes before the fight even comes around which will save you from being bled on.

I think its great that you are not giving fighters an unfair advantage by letting them not make the weight.

I was really impressed by the stance you took at the last Cage Contender by canceling a fight because a fighter 'couldn't be bothered' to make the weight.
