where to go in October?

Have a weeks holiday in October & we want to go somewhere sunny but not overly expensive. We're females in our thirties & the criteria would be nice places to eat, good pubs, not all night clubbing but also not full of over '60s. Somewhere with a bit of character would be nice & not a tacky "british" type resort.

All suggestions would be appreciated - thanks.

Egypt will still be hot at that time of year. You can go on day trips to places like the Pyramids or Petra for some culture. Lots of lovely restaurants in Sharm el Sheikh as well as nice activities like snorkelling and scuba diving on the coral reef. It's not an Ayia Napa style place but there are a few cool clubs. Egypt is also well priced as obviously you're not in Europe.
