Now I admit this is a pretty pointless thread but this ad has been wrecking my head.

You know the one where we hear fans of England, Republic of Ireland, Wales, Scotland and Norn Ireland.

Where in the name of jaysus did they find the bloke who says "Northern Ireland". Its pretty cringeworthy, sounds shocking so it does. I dont think the lad has been at a game of football in his life.

More's the point, what's the Republic of Ireland doing in an ad for the 'Home Nations'??

Yes it is a pointless thread but I have to say I totally agree with you.

Ive have cringed many-a-time at the totally un-interested dude who pretty much just says the words "Northern Ireland."

    SCOTLAND! Ireland! northern ireland Wales!

    Terrible.

Had no idea what you were talking about till I saw the ad. Could not stop laughing. is Sky Sports meant to be taking the p*ss out of NI with that lad. Why do they do those sort of ads, I'm sick of seeing some actor wearing a team's shirt. If your a fan you will want to see your team, some ad will not inspire you to buy Sky.

i thought it was the same actor from the centra ad - the guy that wakes up when his birds flight is delayed

if it is its a real fall from grace - just didnt put in the perfomrance on this one :)

Is it the same shirtless freckled ginge they used for the WC qualifiers?

Going from Centra to Sky Sports is not really a demotion is it, no matter what performance he put in.

What annoys me more is their constant referral to us as the "Republic of Ireland" Yes, i know that is our official title (as such?) but can they not call us just "Ireland". It seems petty to me for some reason. Maybe i'm talking nonsense, i'm sure i'll be told if i am!:pac:
