    Hey,
Hoping for a bit of advice. heading to Prague in a few weeks with my girlfriend. Would like to stay in a stylish fancy hotel that is also near to all the sights, shops etc. Willing to spend a bit more than your average room as it's our anniversary. Anyone got any recommendations?

Intercontinental is a lovely hotel - on river and less than 5 minutes walk to main sights.

If you want to push the boat out, use their limo service to collect you from the airport too.

A friend recommended the Hilton in Old Town... said its very central. Anyone ever stayed there? First time in Prague for both of us so while a nice hotel is important, being close to everything is important too.

If having a bar/restaurant where you stay isn't that important then I go searching for luxury one bed apartments in Stare Mesto (Old Town) and try to get one as close to the Old Town Square as possible (or even one on it with a top class view)

The price will usually be less than staying in a 5* hotel and you can often get a better deal location/luxury wise by staying in an apartment.

Another good option is to visit TripAdvisor and sort hotels by popularity (which is the default order if you do not change anything). Those rated in the top ten are pretty much guaranteed to be excellent places.
