Ice Pilots!

    Hi Folks,

    For anyone who is interested, a new series Called "Ice Pilots" is on Quest (Channel 154 on the Skybox) Thursdays at 21:00 (and +1 an hour later;)). Its about Buffalo Airways based in Yellowknife, Canada and they fly vintage birds like the DC-3, DC-4 and C-46. Saw it last night, it was very interesting!

    thats a great series if you love those aircraft, lots of interesting plane porn. I watched it a few weeks back. The only thing is parts of it are very dramatised (as is typical of shows on that side of the Atlantic) and they drag one particular storyline out.. but definitely worth watching!

    The Ice Pilots series that are shown over here are way behind the current production

    Arnie died in May of 2012

    Ice pilots Season 5 starts in 3 days time on History channel Canada

    FR85 if you have Sky or UPC etc. it is on Discovery channel every Sunday at 21.00

    Those fans of Ice Pilots may be interested in this photo of one of the C-46 stars of the show, this was taken in Aug 1964 at Heathrow, great to see it still in use.It still has the Lufthansa logo on the nose in service with Buffalo.

    Indeed she does :) every repaint the aircraft has had with Buffalo its been redone, never managed to fly her while i was with them.
