Whats the best advice for filling these bits out? I's applying for the job because:

    a) I want the role

    b) I have heard of the company name, so they're not gangsters, I think

Should I go to their website and look at their latest news? Company reports? is that going too far?

Not sure if this is what you are seeking but,

    I normally say:

I applied for this role because I am very passionate about >insert industry, or job<, I also believe I can develope a good career with >company<. I have gained excellent experience and knowledge of the industry through my past employments and my time at college.

You just have to tell them why you want the role, but be honest, white lies are fine.

There's no problem in looking into their reports or website. I wouldn't recite anything negative though. If you see their reports are doing good, you could say that you notice their company increased their profits for year ending whatever and would like to be a part of their success?

    I'm no pro, so I apologise :P
