Hi gang, just looking for a Personal trainer in Cork, North Cork area if possible (near mallow) but will travel to the city if needs be. Just want to be shown the correct techniques for using the various weights, both free weights and the machines and get a plan targeting my goals.

    Cheers!

I went to Robbie Williams (yes, actual name) in Fitnessworx in Douglas before and he was excellent. Really reasonable and knows his stuff. Very nice guy too. A few of them work out of that gym and would all be good I'd say. Would recommend him without reservation anyway. You won't get him teaching you machines though-it will be proper training in how to lift weights, kettlebells, nutrition etc. You will never look back!

I recommend you join a crossfit gym. You will make much better progress in a group dynamic. It will get you out of your comfort zone and you will see much better results. Its probably cheaper also.

Thanks, would you have a number for Robbie, what were his prices?

Went to a guy called Will, he is in the Planet gym, in Blackpool on the way in from Mallow. U can use the gym facilities there, he is reasonable, think I saw it advertised for €20 a half hour the last time, his number is 087 7763762
    He is really good:)

The number of the gym is 021-4364997. Website is http://www.fitnessworx.ie/home1.php. I emailed initially to enquire: rwpersonaltraining@hotmail.com or fitnessworx1@hotmail.com.
I was there over a year ago (now in Dublin) but I think it was something like 5 sessions for €200/250. It was cheaper to get a block. You could also have access to their gym if you'd paid for sessions so got to go in to practice kettlebells or whatever if you wanted and they'd be around.

As far as I'm aware, there's no crossfit gym in Cork. I know Robbie actually talked about Crossfit and likes it-some of his workouts are like the crossfit workout of the day-but I'm not aware of any dedicated gym down there...

+1 for Will. But you need to be a member to use the gym. He has another place that he uses if you aren't joined planet.
