DVR - s/w upgrade in process!! 3 nights in a row?

Hi,

Our UPC silver DVR for the last 3 night about 9/10PM is switching into blue screen/upgrade mode and displays the message s/w upgrade in progress.

Our box is left on overnight each night.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I've come across this problem before on my own DVR. I found the solution was to switch off the box when not in use. So instead of pushing through at 9 or 10pm every night, the software update comes through at about at 8:30am instead. Try it for a week or two to see if it helps!

well if its that bad give them a ring and they will replace the box

Been away, thanks guys. It's seems to have sorted it's self out.

Got a brochure today saying the guide is changing so more updates on the way I guess. Seems to wipe the planned recordings every time it updates!!!

From memory of reading same article:

New guide page will be somewhat transparent so you can still see channel beneath it instead of the small viewing window in top right corner. Page won't take up full screen as before.

Highlighted channel box will stay centred on the screen and in white. Current highlighted channel box moves up and down the screen as you scroll through the channel list.The list moves up and down on new guide.(It'll make sense when you see a screen shot)

Some other bits I can't remember fully so no point posting about them.
