I heard about such a thing that allows you to play with a Dualshock 2 controller on a PS3 via some converter thingy where you plug the controller into a USB yoke.

Does this allow you play PS3 games with a Dualshock 2 joypad or is only for PS2 games?
Are such things available in Ireland/how much?

You can play PS3 games, but it does not support sixaxis games nor games where you use the PS button.

Yes, ebay and about €6, probably €10 with P&P.

Ah that's grand. So rather than buy a second PS3 controller for two player fighting games with the brother I could just get this thing and use an old PS2 one. Lovelyjubbly.

i have something of the sort, bought it in maplin, originally it was for pc but after my ps3 controller broke i found that it works with the ps3's usb port, can't remember how much it was, probably find it for cheaper on the internet

Yeah there's some from Hong Kong @ about €4.50 total including delivery which is grand considering most of the stuff will be from there anyway!

I swear the old PS2 pads are better.

Espeically for fast response games like PES. D-pad just feels thet little bit less rigid.

Can anyone link me to an ebay seller you'd trust and preferably hvae bought one of these from please? I've been reading feedback and there's a few comments saying they don't work.

Also, is there any difference between one that looks like this:

And one that just looks like this:
    ps3.bmp
