You'll like the lense. Takes a while to get used to it @ 1.8, but keep shooting and you get the hang of it.

I like this shot. I'm naturally drawn to look at the closest eye. So it's a bit off putting with the hair covering it. The image looks a little soft and over sharpened around the focus area, her left eye. It's most noticeable on the edge of her cheek down to her chin where the light hits.

Being honest - looks like you converted direct to greyscale. I think you could have gotten a whole lot more out of this image. The fosus is fine, draws you right in on the eye, and it's nicely composed as in you have the hand and backing out of focus [presuming that was intentional] I just think it'd be a whole lot better if you blasted the contrast a bit tbh.

I agree with oshead that the hair over the right eye is a little off putting. It's a nicely composed shot though. The nifty is my favourite!!

    thanks guys
yeh the aim was to have the left eye in focus. can't get over the shallow dept of field that such a cheap lens can create.
I have just given it a quick saturation minimisation in PS late last night but tips on improving it colour wise to get a better slight sepia tone would be welcomed as well as any more opinions.
    Thanks again guys

I don''t mind the left eye but I understand some people not liking it.
Overall I like the pic but yes it could do with more contrast/life.
