    Hi Folks,

Going to Tokyo next month, and company are trying to get me to use KLM through Schipol as its the cheapest.

Flight from Dublin due to touch down at 4.20pm, and connecting flight due to take off at 5.40pm.

To my mind, thats way too tight taking into account security/passport control and the fact they usually close a flight 15/20 mins before take off.

Any one have experience of connecting flights here?

It'll be tight, but quite likely doable - you'll probably be changing piers, but again in Schiphol that's pretty painless.

I've done connecting flight through AMS in about a similar time frame. It's one of the better airports to transit through.

When once I flew through Schiphol and a late take off in Dublin made it look like it was going to be very tight for our connection, we found a nice lady in a buggy waiting for us as soon as we got off the plane from Dublin.

A terrifying high speed belt through passengers followed but we made our flight to Hong Kong.

That is doable, Schipol is one big terminal so no getting on trains or buses, just lots of walking.

If you have your Tokyo boarding pass before you leave Dublin all the better. If not grab it from the self service kiosks or a KLM desk, both are located on the right at the end of the pier that your Dublin flight will arrive at.

Have a check for which gates your Dublin flight usually get in and the Tokyo flight leaves from so you will have some idea of where to go http://www.schiphol.nl/index_en.html

Note in Schipol you go through security at the actual gate you depart from, not from a central area, so be prepared to have belt off, coins out of pockets etc when you arrive at the gate
