The form can be sent by email, make sure you scan both sides of your license, I only scanned one side and they sent it back.

Once I sent the second scan I had the import cert in about 4 days!

Hope your license doesnt take long!

Doesn't take long so long as everything filled in correctly, sent mine by email on a Friday night and had the cert on Tuesday, very well organised in the DoJ.

Emailed mine, had it in 3 days. Wish you could email the licence application!

Out of interest? Have you applied for your northern licence yet? If your collecting it you will require one to carry it in the north:eek:

All u need is a european firearms licence and a visitors permit, as well as your Irish licence and artical 7 of course. A mate of mine was stopped boarding the ferry to Scotland with just the euro licence, was just cautioned and let on his way. I know of others that collected guns with just Irish licence and art 7, had no bother bringing em south. But they never got stopped tho...

the dealer in the north is supposed to bring the gun to the border for you but you should have no hassle. make sure to fill in for ammunition on the form as it can be bought cheaper in the north as well.
